"Vulnerability is not weakness, but the birthplace of connection, courage and authenticity, and is essential for living a full and meaningful life." - Brene Brown
Counselling
Counselling is about healing any potential inner and outer obstacles you may have. Sometimes these obstacles hold us back, before we can step into the future with confidence. A counsellor may support you through emotional distress, trauma and past experiences. It focuses on healing, self-awareness and overcoming psychological difficulties. Counsellors work with evidence based approaches.
I am an integrative therapist and I offer counselling online and outdoors in nature (Walk & Talk therapy). I work with adults and young people (14-17), with a special interest in supporting those navigating anxiety disorders, trauma, burnout, and major life transitions such as relationship changes, divorce, perimenopause, menopause, and the shift to an empty nest.
Anxiety, trauma, and change can create barriers to living fully, often disconnecting the mind and body as a way of coping. The body may store distress while the mind suppresses or rationalises overwhelming emotions, leading to numbness, anxiety, or feeling stuck in survival mode. My approach focuses on reconnecting mind and body, fostering healing, resilience, and personal growth. I have a passionate interest in the nervous system and I will help guide you to a way of living a life where regulation, awareness and inner balance become your new normal.
If this resonates with you, you may be seeking a safe, supportive space to explore your thoughts and feelings, deepen self-understanding, and work towards healing. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—I’m here to walk alongside you as you find a more peaceful and fulfilling path forward.
Together, we can work through distressing emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and foster self-acceptance, easing the strain on you, your relationships, and daily life. Difficult experiences can leave you feeling exhausted, anxious, or disconnected from the things you once enjoyed. You might struggle with patience, feel on edge, or face challenges in your relationships.
If you’re ready to invest in yourself and begin the healing process, I can offer you a space of understanding, support, and hope. This journey can be transformative, helping you reconnect with yourself and create meaningful change.
I offer both long- and short-term therapy, tailored to your unique needs. Sessions are available online, and if you’re local to Sedgefield, we can also meet outdoors for Walk & Talk therapy in beautiful natural spaces. Our work together may integrate talking therapy, trauma-informed approaches, CBT, somatics, mindfulness, breathwork, reflection and journaling prompts, as well as cutting edge neuroscience theories to underpin my approach. If you're unsure of what you need, I help you explore and discover the best path forward.
Finding a counsellor you can trust is important. To help you make this decision, I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation via telephone. Each session afterwards lasts 50–60 minutes and is charged at £55.
Coaching
Coaching is more of a movement forwards focusing on personal growth. It is about where you are today, finding out where you want to get to and the journey of getting there. Coaching supports motivation, accountability and action taking.
Coaching helps you to move forwards, Counselling gives heart-felt support to recover from what happened, and Therapy transforms from the root.
The Unbreakable Mindset Methodology® (UMM) is designed to uncover and shift the deep-rooted subconscious blocks and anxieties that hold you back from living the life you truly desire. One of the greatest barriers we all face is our own belief system - the inner voice that tells us we’re not good enough, that we don’t deserve success, or that our dreams are out of reach.
Founded by Jude Daunt, UMM takes a unique and personalised approach, delving deep into the client's subconscious. It considers their childhood blueprint, conditioning, beliefs, values, and habits, carefully dismantling and reprogramming them for change.
UMM equips clients with the tools to uncover and navigate behavioural and emotional challenges. Through this process, thought patterns are reshaped, and a positive reframing occurs, enabling clients to get unstuck and become mentally free to achieve their biggest goals and desires.
But when we commit to doing the inner work and strengthening our mindset, we become Unbreakable. Obstacles don’t just get overcome - they become opportunities to learn, reset, and realign with our goals. We step into a version of ourselves that makes life look effortless.
Life isn’t meant to be a constant struggle. It’s meant to be joyful, expansive, and filled with possibility. And it all starts with cultivating an Unbreakable Mindset.
Book a free 30-minute discovery call to explore your mindset goals and see how we can work together. If we’re a good fit, I’ll create a personalised coaching package tailored to your needs.
Walk and Talk Therapy
Walking and getting outside in nature is proven to be beneficial. Being alive and human means having a natural connection with all living things. Studies have shown that the sight of natural bodies of water or large green spaces provides an instant calming affect on the nervous system. Also, being in nature means you are exposed to sunlight which triggers the body to produce vitamin D. This is an essential hormone for us; having a lack of vitamin D shows symptoms of low energy, not sleeping well, frequent illness, anxiety and muscle pains. If you struggle with seasonal affective disorder, you know that going outside for just 15 minutes per day, even when the day is short in Winter and sunlight is weak, can give you a real boost. Imagine what this can do for those who are struggling with depression. Walk and talk therapy blends physical activity with counselling, and can offer a dynamic alternative to the conventional therapy setting.
The Benefits of Walk and Talk Therapy:
-
Walking stimulates endorphin release and can alleviate the symptoms of anxiety and depression; this is evident in the holistic nature of walk and talk therapy where mind and body work together to foster healing.
-
It helps to break down barriers: the informal setting of walking side by side rather than sitting face to face can reduce the pressure that a client feels in traditional therapy sessions. This environment often leads to more open, relaxed and spontaneous talking, helping the clients to articulate their thoughts that they may struggle to express in a more formal setting.
-
Nature acts as a co-therapist. The calming effects of nature and being outdoors can further enhance the therapeutic process. Being outdoors in nature reduces stress levels and has been known to improve mood. Walk and talk therapy can happen in a variety of settings: from beaches to parks.
-
Walk and talk therapy can also support a client to feel more in control of their therapeutic journey. It empowers clients through movement. The act of walking forwards can be a physical but also a metaphorical mirror of the emotional and psychological progress clients can make.
Who Would Benefit from Walk and Talk Therapy?
There are many clients who would benefit from walk and talk therapy. For example, those with anxiety, depression, or those who find traditional therapy settings restrictive, stifling and suffocating. Clients who are autistic or who have been diagnosed with ADHD often find walk and talk therapy less formal and more comfortable, especially if they don’t like sitting still for long periods of time and don’t like eye contact. Finally anyone who loves being outdoors and in nature.
Overall then, the benefits of walk and talk therapy are unique and it offers a refreshing holistic approach to mental health care. I would encourage any client to seriously consider this innovative method especially if they are looking for an experience that nurtures both the mind and body, thus moving you on your journey in more ways than one.
